Christmas holidays was gone and in January I received and accepted the second invitation from a great “Esports” reality in Italy and in the world. Samsung.
The Korean company has invested so much in the Esports to the point of forming and supporting for several years a Korean team of professional League of Legends players, giving it the name of their well-known product, the “Samsung Galaxy”.
The Italian division of Samsung is moving hand in hand and within a few months has formed the “Samsung Morningstars”.
The Team is specialized in Overwatch, a videogame (and Esport) in which even 2 different sides of the same Team compete. The “White” and the “Blue”.
Currently the team trains in Bergamo, where an “Esport Palace” was inaugurated in May.
But in January I went to see them at the Milan MOBA for a training.
MOBA stands for “Multiplayer Online Battle Arena”, the genre of video games like “League of Legends”, for example.
In this case MOBA is also the name that has been given to a location that can be classified as “Esports Bar”.
A place to dine and at the same time play (for hire), or watch others while they play.
The building is on three floors.
The training takes place at the highest level, where there are the most performing Pc Gaming stations.
Tomorrow the guys will present themselves in front of an audience of fans and curious, at the Samsung Smart Arena in Milan, on the occasion of the Inaugural Season 2018 of Overwatch.
And it’s there that I understood, along with the organizers, that something was about to change and get better into the Italian Esports scene.
The location was full. A varied and passionate audience followed the event streamed on the various large screens displayed in the center of the hall.
Esports in Italy reached a new level.
And my project with it.

Passano le feste Natalizie e nel periodo appena successivo ricevo ed accetto il secondo invito da parte di una grande realtà “Esports” in Italia e nel mondo. Samsung.
L’azienda Coreana ha investito tanto negli Esports al punto di formare e sostenere per diversi anni una squadra di professionisti di League of Legends Coreana, dandole il nome di un loro noto prodotto, i “Samsung Galaxy”.
La divisione Italiana di Samsung si sta muovendo di pari passo e nell’arco di pochi mesi ha formato i “Samsung Morningstars”.
Il Team è specializzato in Overwatch, un videogioco (ed Esport) nel quale competono addirittura 2 formazioni distinte. I “White” e i “Blue”.
Attualmente il Team si allena a Bergamo, dove è stato realizzato un “Esport Palace” inaugurato a Maggio.
Ma a Gennaio sono andato a trovarli al MOBA di Milano per un allenamento.
MOBA sta per “Multiplayer Online Battle Arena”, ovvero il genere di videogiochi in cui rientra “League of Legends”, ad esempio.
In questo caso MOBA è anche il nome che è stato dato ad un locale che può essere classificato come “Esports Bar”.
Un luogo dove poter cenare e allo stesso tempo giocare (a noleggio), oppure osservare altri mentre giocano.
L’edificio è sviluppato su tre piani.
L’allenamento si svolge nel livello più alto, ovvero dove ci sono le postazioni di Gaming più performanti.
Domani i ragazzi si presenteranno inoltre davanti ad un pubblico di fans e curiosi, presso la Samsung Smart Arena di Milano, in occasione dell’evento di Inaugurazione di Stagione 2018 di Overwatch.
Ed è proprio li che ho capito, insieme agli organizzatori, che qualcosa stava per trasformarsi nel panorama Esport Italiano.
La location era gremita. Un pubblico variegato ed appassionato ha seguito l’evento trasmesso sui diversi grandi schermi esposti nel centro della sala.
Il livello del panorama Esports italiano era salito.
E il mio progetto con esso.
