In the early afternoon Elena starts the induced labor.
Soon after the pain is felt and the labor room becomes a surreal place.

Welcoming those painful seconds is not easy for Elena but she continues her journey for long hours.
At 4:55 pm Marlene is born with caesarean section.
His mother, and my partner, could not complete conception in a natural way.
I find myself in the room adjacent to the surgery where the surgeons are closing her wound.
The mother’s screams of pain i heard before left room for those of the child’s desperation.
Two midwives are taking care of her.
They measure her, wash her and do they job to ensure the best in these first moments of life.
I just look at them and I live these moments, photographing.
An event that brings all the cards back into play.
And he does it with something that until then could only be an utopian slogan.
Endless Love is now pure and undeniable reality.

Nel primo pomeriggio per Elena parte il travaglio indotto.
Da li a poco il dolore si fa sentire e la sala travaglio diventa un luogo surreale.
Fatto di una insolita quiete spezzata da decisi momenti di dolore.
Accogliere quegli strazianti secondi non è facile per Elena che però continua il suo percorso per lunghe ore.
Alle 16:55 nasce Marlene con parto cesareo.
Sua madre, e mia compagna, non è riuscita a portare a termine il concepimento in modo naturale.
Mi ritrovo nella saletta adiacente a quella operatoria in cui i chirurghi stanno ricucendo le ferite.
Le urla di dolore della madre hanno lasciato spazio a quelle di disperazione della piccola.
Due ostetriche si stanno prendendo cura di lei.
La misurano, la lavano e operano tutte le manovre per assicurarle il meglio in questi primi attimi di vita.
Io osservo impotente e mi vivo questi momenti, fotografandoli.
Un evento che rimette in gioco tutte le carte.
E lo fa con qualcosa che fino a quel momento poteva essere solo uno slogan utopico.
Endless Love ora è pura e innegabile realtà.
